what to expect at my workshops

  I aim is to offer a friendly relaxing environment , The workshop will typically begin with an introduction to the materials and tools used in willow weaving, as well as an overview of the basic techniques that will be used; you will then have the opportunity to select your own willow stems and begin working on your sculpture, with guidance and support as and when needed.

As the workshop progresses,  you will learn more advanced techniques for shaping the willow and creating intricate details. I will provide tips and tricks for achieving the desired look and feel of the sculpture, and you will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and receive feedback on your work.

The workshops that I offer are suitable for most experience levels and are available to adults. You will need good hand strength and dexterity;

Please note that as we all work at different speeds, you may not fully fill in your artwork during the workshop my aim is that you  will be at the stage where you know how to complete it, at home and carry on at your own leisure with the focus on learning something new.

As this is a hands on activity I do not provide written notes as we all have different ways of learning and I prefer to adapt to the needs of the group that I am working with on the day, you are welcome to take your own and photos as a memory aid if it helps you.

Please note that as this is a group workshop if you find it easier to learn in a quiet space then this may be a challenge for you, the activity is not a replacement for 1- 1 tuition , please get in touch with me before booking a place to discuss if your not sure.

All of the workshops include materials, a selection of examples. printed images, use of tools, and refreshments you will need to bring your lunch unless otherwise stated.
