I have a love of nature and fantasy, and so for me, the pine marten is one of those creatures that connects us with ancient times; many people mistake them for one of their ermine cousins.

For those fantasy fans out there, Lyra from Philip Pulman His dark materials trilogy daemon friend Pantalaimon (Pan) settles on being a Pine Marten  I always wonder which creature I would have settled with 

Measurements: 56cm body to ear, 25cm neck to floor, 35 rump to floor, 51 girth, 46 sweep of tail

Ideally the artwork should be displayed  indoors or under shelter away from the elements as the stripped white willow has no bark ,the sculpture has been sprayed with wood varnish  and aftercare details are provided.
