New Forest Willow pony created for the BBC Gardeners World Spring fair show garden
It is odd to think that it was less than two weeks ago that I was sharing images of the New Forest pony that I created for the Forest of Calm Show Garden at the Gardeners World Spring Fair which took place at the world famous Beaulieu National Motor Museum in the New Forest.
I was still out of the country half way around the globe and so couldn't visit the show which was sad, but I was so excited to hear that the garden creators had been awarded a gold.
This beautiful garden created by Leigh Johnston aka the Beardy Gardener and Lilly Clarke aka Lilly and the Flowers was designed to reflect two different aspects of the fores one contemporary the other rural
The project was funded by the N F National Parks Authority YouCAN scheme thanks to lottery players from The National Lottery Community Fund. Vulture in Common and New Forest District Council.
The Countryside Education Trust provided me with a venue to create the pony in and local home educated students from Broadleaf Home Ed Co-op based at Bramshaw assisted on the project.
The garden has now been moved to its permanent home at Bramshaw Village Hall for the students and other hall users to enjoy. Congratulations to all involved!
