Living willow harlequin tree and out door structure workshop 15th March Southampton

 This hands-on workshop will teach you the techniques needed to craft beautiful and sustainable structures using natural materials and is perfect for anyone looking to get creative and connect with nature. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to learn a new skill and enjoy a day outdoors!

I am offering two options for this day

Option one - 10 am - 1pm

You will create a harlequin tree workshop to take home 

Option two - 10 am - 3.30 pm

Option one &

Learn everything that you need to make a willow dome, fedge (living hedge)  or arbour,  how to choose a suitable site, prepare it for planting, choose the right willow for the job, design and build a structure and how to maintain it.

We will then be putting all that you learn on the day into practice by creating a large willow arbour on the grounds of the lovely Southampton City Farm for visitors to enjoy.

 What is included 

All materials including some of my own organically grown willow, use of tools and handouts to take home . 

Hot drinks and cake will be provided ( vegan and gluten-free options are available) 

If you wish to purchase willow from me to take home to make your  structure please contact me  to discuss.

You will need to bring your own lunch there is a small cafe on site selling snacks and hot toasties.

Please note that this is quite a physicaly demanding  activity you will  need a reasonable level of manuel dexterity. we will be bending over and kneeling at times as well as standing and making holes in the ground for the willow, the activity may involve clearing grass  for the second part of the activity when we are planting the willow sticks to create the arbour.

You will need to wear suitable shoes and clothing for working outside.
